After an incredibly busy time for both schools in the lead up to Christmas with so much learning taking place in the production of Christmas Shows and enterprise events, it's always good to come back to school in January at the start of a new year and a new term and get started straight away with the children's next steps in learning.
Although this is just the end of the first week back, both schools already have been so busy and there has been a real learning buzz in all of the classrooms. To help develop numeracy skills, especially mental maths, both schools have started to implement 'Sumdog' - a digital learning programme that is funded by Argyll & Bute and ties in with Curriculum for Excellence. Already, it is clear to see that the children love using it and by using the teacher report facility, it's easy for teachers to track each child's progress on a daily basis and to set activities appropriate to the needs of each child. Sumdog can also be used at home, so if you are interested, please ask your child's teacher.
Teacher's will provide parents with information on topics this term in the near future so keep your eye on the website!
